It’s one of those things you never notice as you’re doing it but I realized that we use a bewildering array of idioms in our speech. Sometimes it seems we try hard to avoid saying anything without analogy. In fact it’s a bit of a competition in meetings to be the one to come up with the best analogy to fit the situation under discussion.
Now that you have an English language blog, think of it as a great opportunity to sprinkle sports metaphors in your commentary.
