Derivatives and Transparency

Every time I think about the current financial crisis I come to the conclusion that the lack of transparency is the biggest reason why things got so bad. There is an obvious implication for business intelligence but even when I simply look up “derivatives and transparency” on Google Trends I am surprised by the level of correlation between those two search terms over last five years!

  1. This big peak on transparency graph looks like Transparency International annual report. People interest on corruption is lovering year by year.

On derivatives you can see suppress on holidays and Christmas buying period. People are searching for travel destinations and gifts instead derivatives which looks like less searching of it but only less ratio in comparison.

I’m just guessing but as usual in BI.

  2. JB,

    Interesting trends
This one also provide interesting yearly cyclical pattern change “crisis” with relation to “mortgage”

  3. Am writing a thesis on Public Trust in WikiLeaks, the Media and the Government and need to know what your opinions are. The online survey is multiple choice and will take approximately 10 minutes to complete. Please follow the link: http://www.kwiksurveys.com/?s=ILLLML_9669e09d. Would be great if you would encourage others to do the survey also.
